Restoring History: Ashley’s Timeless Kitchen Renovation

When Ashley first visited our Mid-City showroom, she had a vision. Owning a home built in 1885, she was determined to restore the character and charm that had been lost in a previous 1995 kitchen remodel. That remodel, while modern at the time, felt disconnected from the home’s original architecture. Her goal for this project was to create a space that would honor the historical essence of her home while providing lasting comfort and functionality. But Ashley’s journey to a dream kitchen wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was also about resilience. Her home suffered significant damage during Hurricane Ida, making the renovation a necessity.

Finding the Perfect Inspiration

The moment Ashley walked into our showroom, it all clicked. Seeing the first kitchen display, she thought, “This is it.” From that instant, she knew exactly what she wanted—down to the cabinet handles. Warm stained cabinets paired with a stunning marble-veined quartz countertop and full backsplash set the stage for a kitchen that seamlessly blended history with modern functionality.

Thoughtful Design and Smart Organization

Throughout the project, Ashley collaborated closely with Kim, her Singer Kitchens designer, who played a pivotal role in helping her bring her vision to life. She described the process as potentially overwhelming but was grateful for the calm and professional guidance from Kim that made everything feel effortless. More than just aesthetics, Kim worked diligently to help Ashley increase storage capacity and improve organization by tapping into previously unused space. The result? A kitchen that not only looked timeless but functioned beautifully for her everyday needs.

Enhancing Flow and Functionality

Ashley’s existing kitchen layout felt choppy, lacking clear definition. Through thoughtful design, Kim was able to help Ashley create a sleek and cohesive space. One of the standout features was the custom-built peninsula. Ashley envisioned a more functional area with increased seating and improved walk space. To achieve this, Kim designed a peninsula with special legs and integrated storage, including a unique triangular shape that echoed the elegance of her home’s herringbone floors.

Bringing It All Together

Beyond the kitchen, Ashley also opted to renovate her butler’s pantry, enhancing both its beauty and functionality. Additionally, our 0% interest financing played a vital role in keeping her project on track while she awaited insurance payments, ensuring that her dream kitchen became a reality without unnecessary financial stress or delays.

In the end, Ashley’s renovation was about more than just updating a kitchen—it was about honoring the home’s rich history while creating a timeless space that will be cherished for years to come.
